Every GC Shoes pair is built on US women's sizing and runs from a US 6 to a US 10, including half sizes. If you're between sizes or ordering from outside the US, the chart below converts US sizes to UK and EU, and gives you the foot length each size is built to fit.

How to measure your foot

Two minutes with a sheet of paper is more reliable than guessing from the size you wore in another brand.

1. Put a sheet of paper flat against a wall and stand on it with your heel touching the wall. Do this in the evening — feet swell over the course of a day, and you want the size that fits then.
2. Wear the socks or hosiery you would normally wear with the shoes.
3. Mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe. That is not always your big toe.
4. Measure from the wall edge of the paper to the mark, in inches or centimetres. Do both feet and use the larger measurement.

What if I'm between sizes?

Order the larger size. A shoe that is slightly long can be adjusted with an insole or a heel grip; a shoe that is too short cannot be fixed. This applies to every style we make.

If your measurement falls between two rows in the chart above, the same rule applies — round up.

Width

GC Shoes are built on a standard (B) width last. If you normally wear a wide fitting, look for our adjustable styles — velcro strap wedges, buckle footbed sandals and elastic-band designs all give you room to adjust across the instep in a way that fixed-strap and closed styles do not.

Fit notes by style

• Wedge sandals — true to size. The cushioned footbed compresses slightly over the first few wears, so a snug fit on day one is normal and expected.
• Flat sandals and slides — true to size. If you are between sizes, size up; slides have no closure to take up slack.
• Footbed sandals — true to size. The contoured footbed needs your arch to sit in the moulded dip, so avoid sizing up more than half a size.
• Heeled sandals — true to size. Adjustable ankle straps give you some room either way.
• Sneakers — true to size. The memory-foam footbed moulds to your foot after a few wears.
• Boots and booties — true to size. If you plan to wear thick socks, size up half a size.
